Morgan's Nature Walks - Internal Protocol for Covid-19 Outbreak


1. Prevention Procedures
1.1 Information
All clients of Morgan’s Nature Walks Unipessoal LDA will have to this protocol through the site https://www.mnatwalks.com/en/Covid-19.php and when making a reservation via email a copy of the protocol will be sent at the time of reserve confirmation. If the reservation is made via Facebook a link will be provided to the page of the already referred site where the protocol can be found.
Groups of people per activity will be limited to 10 people per group and will be required to keep a physical distance of 3 metres with the exception of members of the same family.
To guarantee the control and prevention of infections all clients are required to read this protocol carefully before participating in an activity with Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA.


1.2 Sanitation plan
As Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA has no physical installations to receive clients the sanitation plan is executed very simply.
When arriving at the meeting point to commence the activity all clients should disinfect their hands. Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA guide will provide an antiseptic solution based on alcohol or solution-based alcohol so that no client has contact with the bottle.
According to the Resolução do Conselho de Minsitros (Resolution of the Counsel of Ministers) No. 40-A/2020, Article19 the activities of Tourist Animation, more specifically Guided tours or walks are considered a sport activity or an open-air activity.
With basis on this RCM the orientation of the DGS (Health Board) No. 030/2020 that advises in the concerns of physical distancing:
“1 – The application of physical distancing constitutes one of the most important strategies to reduce the risk of contagion by SATS-COV-2 withing the community:
a) Guaranty that within closed and open spaces the minimal physical distancing is maintained of: (…)
ii. At least three metres between people during the practice of physical activity.”
In the case of wearing masks: “Mask usage.
1 – Applying the Principal of Precaution in Public Health it is considered the use of masks for all people within a closed space with multiple people as an additional measure to social distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. Therefore, it is recommended:
a) Funcionários: obrigatório o uso de máscara. Dispensa da obrigatoriedade do uso de máscara durante a lecionação de sessões de treino que impliquem realização de exercício físico;

b) Users: It is compulsory the use of a mask at the entrance and exit of installations. The compulsory use of a mask is revoked during the executing of physical activity.”
According to the orientations of the DGS and due to the nature of Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA it is not compulsory the use of masks and the physical distancing should be three metres. It is because of this last reason that Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA is limiting its groups to 10 people, this way avoid that the tail of the group gets too far from the guide. The use of masks will be compulsory when entering closed spaces as for example Quinta do Freixo where visitors can visit the farm’s shop.


1.3 Sanitation Equipment
The guide will have a bottle of antiseptic solution with and alcoholic base or a solution base of alcohol who will apply a dose for each person.
There will be masks for each person present during the activity in case they are necessary.
At the end of the activity the used masks will be deposited in a rubbish bag that will be closed with a knot and deposited in rubbish container to avoid contact with clients, guide and any third parties.

1.4 For the employees
1.4.1 Training
The guide has received specific training about the measures and control of infection concerning the outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19 that includes the sanitation processes of hands, respiratory etiquette and social conduct.
The guide follows the daily auto monitorization to evaluate fever, cough or difficulty in breathing and follows the orientations of the DGS in concern of the treatment of clothes.

1.4.2 Individual Protection Equipment
Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA has masks and antiseptic solution with and alcoholic base or a solution based on alcohol and cloves for all clients and guide.
The necessity to use visors and gloves are unnecessary for walks or guided tours except in the case of Workshops that are not available for the duration of the outbreak of Covid-19

1.4.3 Designation of person responsible in case of suspected infection
Due to the nature of the activities of Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA it is not possible to have a space of isolation in case of someone suspected of infection. The person responsible for activating the necessary procedures in case of suspected infection will be the guide.

1.4.4 Conduct
The auto monitorization of the guide will be done in the morning and at the end of the day and the information shall be registered on a grid.

1.4.5 Cleaning and sanitation stock
Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA guarantees to have masks and antiseptic solution based on alcohol or solution based on alcohol and cloves.

2 Procedures in case of suspected infection
2.1 Plan of action
It is unlikely that someone will participate in a guided tour or walk with Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA if they have COVID-19 symptoms due to the fact that in some case the person will present fever, lack of breath, cough and fatigue.
If a situation arises where someone presenting the symptoms be it the client or the guide, the Health Line (SNS 24) will be contacted and a contingency plan will be implemented. The infected person will be distanced from the group in the best way possible taking into consideration the location in question. For example, if the group is walking a trail the infected person should stay behind the guide at a distance of 4 metres and the rest of the rest of the group shall remain at a distance of 4 metres behind the infected person until the end of the trail is reached or in case SNS 24 demand that the person be evacuated. If this does not happen it will be necessary to wait until the end of the trail so that the infected person be advised to return to their hotel, habitation or place of residence at the moment or be evacuated by ambulance.
The infected person, guide and the rest of the group will be required to wear masks for the rest of the visit.
In the case of serious symptoms, the same procedure be implemented but instead of waiting for the end of the trail with the infected person will be guided to the closest dirt track or road where an ambulance will be called and the infected person will be evacuated to the hospital. Once the person has been evacuated the remaining members of the group will continue along the rest of the trail.


3 - incident Report
In the case of there being and incident related to Coronavirus COVID-19 the Morgan’s Nature Walks, Unipessoal LDA guide will register the incident in a report with the date, time, location and nature of the incident and for the protect of privacy no personal information will registered.
